Currently scheduled speakers include Bukola Bello (Illinois Retirement Security Initiative), Dick Lockhart (SUAA Lobbyist), and Linda Brookhart (SUAA Executive Director).  State representatives and senators from southern Illinois have been invited to speak.  Confirmations pending.

The registration fee is $12.00 which covers lunch and refreshments.  Registration must be received by September 13th for an accurate lunch count.  You may pay the registration fee at the door, but if you register and do not attend, you will be invoiced.

Directions

If you're coming from the north on Interstate 55 and/or Interstate 64, get yourself to Carbondale.  You'll enter Carbondale on state Highway 13 east.  Look for signs directing you to Highway 51 south, then take Highway 51 south through Carbondale, past the SIUC Campus.  Continue south on 51 for about 8 miles and you'll see signs for Makanda and Giant City Lodge. (If you miss the signs, just look for a large bright yellow water tower with a happy face and a bow tie, to honor Paul Simon.)

Turn left (east) and just follow the signs through the village.  Once you enter the park (which covers 4,000 acres), the signs will direct you to Giant City Lodge.  There's a big parking lot next to the lodge.

If you're coming from the north on Interstate 57, get off at exchange 54, which will put you on state Highway 13 west.  On the outer edge of Carbondale, the first road in Carbondale is Giant City Road.  Take a left (south) and just stay on Giant City Road.  This will take you right into the park and you just need to follow the signs to Giant City Lodge.  (If you miss that turn off Highway 13, continue on into Carbondale.  You'll see signs directing you to Highway 51 south.  Follow the signs and then follow the directions above.)
